Fancy Fondue

Tonight was a successful fondue night. I was able to buy my needed ingredients at Target and Publix. The cheese above was from Publix.

I also bought a delicious loaf of French bread from the bakery, which I sliced into small pieces. I ended up cutting broccoli and carrots. Add I found some Triscuit crackers to go with too.

One of the tricks for cooking cheese fondue is wiping the inside of the pot with a cut clove of garlic. This adds much needed flavor. After rubbing my pot, I added my Little Boomey chardonnay and kept it on a medium heat. Before the wine started to bubble, I added a sprinkle of nutmeg and paprika with a splash of lemon juice.

Before placing the Swiss cheese to the wine, I placed the cheese inside a Ziploc plastic bag with some regular flour and shook the bag. **The flour helps to thicken the cheese.

After shaking the flour and cheese, I placed the cheese with the rest of the ingredients in the pot. I constantly had to keep stirring and place the stove top heat on a lower heat.

The end result was delish.

I also, made a chocolate fondue with pink lady apples, pound cake, bananas, and ripe strawberries.

The chocolate fondue was made up with 8 oz of heavy whipping cream and a 10 oz package of Ghirardelli semi-sweet chocolate chips.
